Dr Sepehr Arbabi finished high school in Germany and succeeded to enter the RWTH University of Aachen as a nominee for talented students’ scholarship. During his postgraduate studies he worked on particle tracking detectors on the basis ofGallium-Arsenide. Then he worked on the design of an instrumentfor the measurement of the concentration of Thorium, a radioactive element, in the oceansusing photo-multiplier tubes.
After that he entered the University of Potsdam with a DFG scholarship to pursue his PhD in astrophysics. Graduating in 4 years, he started his career as project manager at Airbus Germany and was a leadperson for the assembly and calibration of some flight test instrumentation.Deciding to come back to his country, Iran, he started cooperating with the Iranian National Observatory (INO) project and has been teaching astronomy, cosmology, astrophysics, … in Iranian universities since then.
He is a faculty member of the Qom University of Technology and CEO of “Sepehr research and knowledge development”, a knowledge based private shared company.

Design and construction of a hydrostatic bearing with 45 tons capacity as the first part of the Iranian National Observatory telescope
Testof large optical components before delivery to Iran
